Niftylift’s ambition is to build a comprehensive campus style of complementary buildings to facilitate its expanding business but to also consolidate its activities into one site.

As part of this ambition Roger Bowden the visionary and Chairman of Niftylift was working with Oakley Park to provide classroom facilities and outdoor space and so was born the Creche/teaching classroom facility for 5-7 year olds.

The project was managed by WS Project Consulting Limited(WSPC) and Niftylift as joint Construction Managers. Packages for the works were put together by WSPC and managed on site by WSPC and Niftylift. It was an innovative and collaborative working relationship building on WSPC’s construction and technical knowledge and Niftylift’s design orientated but practical nature and approach made it work.

Works started with the construction on the mound of earth left by the previous Contractor. The ground has a piled slab as foundation and from this a concentric circular frame was built with 24 segments. The walls were clad with timber and the roof was a traditional trussed rafter roof with timber shingles.

Internally the classroom space was half the “circle” with soft flooring, lighting and soft play area. There is an entrance area  with toilets and office space.

Externally, there is a soft green space with protected play area, paths and landscaping.
